smog control test, S70 1998

Ask the dealer for these TSBs:

2334 020705 Emissions - OBD II Readiness Codes Update
2230059 020701 Emissions - Revised OBD II Readiness Code Resetting

You can also get them from wwww.alldatadiy.com (but it is $25 for
a one year subscription; I find it worth it).

Here is a previous post that showed up after a search on the TSB
number with the procedure:

http://www.brickboard.com/AWD/index.htm?id=556151

You might also need an OBDII redear to confirm settings after the
procedure since I have heard it does not always work. Pep Boys auto
stores are rumpred to read codes for free.

Did you fail a test? If you ave been driving the car for some
time without the OBDII being reset then you should not have
a problem.
