PNP 850 1993

See:

Basically, it is a switch that sits on the transmission. The
transmission is controlled electronically via this switch. The
switch is connected via a cable to the shift mechanisim in the
center console. Over time, the switch starts to fail and the
transmission can't "determine" what gear it should be in.

I've wondered why the switch is not in the center console and just
wired to the transmission.
