The reason for the stiffer springs is not only to lower the car but there have been some issues of the back end hopping around over bumpy surfaces. As you mentioned the Advance Mode is very stiff and you would not want to make the suspension stiffer. Most of the spring mods currently have been done in Europe, but there is a U.S company called Evolve (evolve.com) that has done some as well as IPD. There were R mods shown at the recent SEMA show
