Cruise brake pedal switch V70-XC70

The cruise control on my 98 V70 stopped worked after a big emergency stop. However, I've noticed that it works if I lift my brake pedal up by putting my foot underneath it (not a good move really). This suggests that the problems lies with the brake pedal sensor for the cruise control. I've had a quick look and I see one black switch and possible another switch - I presume one for the brake light and one of the cruise. Could somebody tell me which one to examine more closely?
