Quick fixes are good for a while, but the noise may come back to haunt you.

If you had pads installed by a "brake specialist" (Midas types) note that they get all there parts from China/Malaysia. These break pads have a much harder
surface than Volvo factory pads, and therefore "cut" into the rotors. You should definitely be using Volvo's pads, even if you do the work yourself.

Also, Volvo recommends that you never "turn" your rotors. Replacement is the only recommended solution once the rotors are cut.
