Roof strips peeling. How to replace? 850 1994

This is a common problem with these roof strips.
There is a plastic cover on the back end to the strip which is stuck to the roof by double-stick tape.

Remove this plastic cover and you can gently pull the entire strip off from the rear towards the front windshield. The strip is held in place with clips attached to the roof.

If you have the time and patience, you can sand the chipped plastic off and repaint it with black spray paint. It's pretty easy but time-consuming.

I'm not sure how much a new set costs but I think it's over $100.
