Keeps stopping about a mile up the road 400 1990

SORTED AT LAST!!!!! I hope as I am just going for the test drive, mobile phone at the ready.

Found the fuel filter underneath the car but it was so rusted on that I couldn't get it off. To check if there was any fuel at the injectors I undid the nut in the engine bay and cranked it over. There was plenty of fuel getting there! But still not starting.
The problem was a connector block that sits out of sight just behind the oil filler cap and pipes etc.(didn't even know it was there). Whoever had the car before had broken the clasp on the connector and it had moved about an eighth of an inch apart, barely enough to notice but it was enough to stop the car!

Thanks to anyone who helped out, I now know more about this car in a weekend than I did about my previous car in a year.

Ben
