Sticking Hood Release Mechanism S70

Hi there. I have a 2000 S70 GLT with a hood release mechanism that sticks on both sides of the hood. The hood-sticking originally was isolated to one side of the hood but after the dealer tried a few 'corrections', it now sticks on both sides when cold (at 60F or colder). In warm weather or after the car has been warmed-up, the hood can be opened.

I have brought the car to my Volvo dealer several times and explained the problem each time. The dealer's response was, at first, to add lubrication to the locking mechanisms. That didn't work. I convinced the dealer (after three failed lubrication tries) to replace the hood release cable (Part #: 9152942-0). However, even after that repair was completed, the problem persists. The dealer most recently added cold weather grease to the locking mechanism. That didn't work either.

I will be leaving the car at the dealership this week to, again, trouble-shoot this problem (the car will be out of warranty in 3 weeks). Any suggestions on what the problem may be and what the dealer should look for would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.
