Pulse and 'skip' at highway speeds 850 1997

My '97 850 wagon has started to "skip" or pulse at speeds between 45 and 65mph. The problem occurrs when at no-load, constant speed conditions and especially when slightly de-accelerating. Problem is intermittant. There is no noticeable change in RPM on the tach

All periodic maintenance has been performed including new plugs, distributor cap, wires, timing chain. There have been no codes coming up. Fuel pressure has been checked in the shop.

Both the dealer and my regular mechanic haven't been able to locate the cause.

I've tried shifting from OD to D (thinking it might be the tranny hunting between D and OD), and there has been no change.

Only thing left I can think to check is fuel pressure at highway speed.

Anyone have experience with this problem?

Doug
