S80 SRS Light prblem S80

What's wrong? Your dealer has a boat loan or mortgage payment coming due.

Others have reported similar "random" SRS light incidents, and once the light was reset (with no other repairs), several years have pased withiut a reoccurence. Another solution posted was to remove a certain fuse (or the battery negative connection) for several minutes to "reset" the software.

Even if your dealer replaced every SRS component, at a cost of several $thousand$, a loose connector or wire splice could have been the root cause, and it would still be there. You are right, their approach makes sense only to improve profits.

In your case, static discharge from your passenger sliding across the seat was a possible cause. Was this a cool, dry day?

I would ask them to reset the light, check for stored diagnostic codes, and see what happens next.
