Trans slipping in park? 850

Just moved and have a steeper incline on my driveway. Noticed on 2 occasions that when putting the car in park, and releasing the brake, the car slipped and I could hear slipping of the trans. The gearshift was moving, about 4 times, meaning 4 "clicks" until the car stopped moving. This happened twice, but has been fine since then. The dealer mentioned that it could be the parking pawl starting to wear which is inside the transmission. He also mentioned that this is not a regular fix it item and that the trans would need to be replaced.

Who has run into this before and is there another fix versus replacing an entire transmission?

thanks!
