kumho tires vs. green diamond

I need to replace all four tires on my 1993 850. I am trying to decide between buying the really cheap Kumho 716s from tirerack ($37 each) or Green Diamond all seasons which I know from prior experience are great on ice. I live in Minneapolis, so snow and ice traction is very important. The Green Diamonds are about $65 each and probably won't last as long. Has anyone drive the Kumhos in icy conditions and are they any good? As always your responses are greatly appreciated.
