Engine Dies 850 1996

I have a 96 850 non turbo wagon. Foe the past half a year I am having a weird problem with it. When I am standing, the RPM’s drop and the car just dies. Usually the only way to start it back up is to put it in park, remove the key from the egnition, wait a couple of seconds and than try to start it.
Sometimes it doesn’t die completely but RPM’s drop to less tan .5, the arrow (I think is stands for winter mode) comes on. The car shakes for a second or two and than goes back to normal.
Other symptoms that I have noticed: 1)the “check engine” light is on but when I took it to a dealer to read the code I was told there aren’t any, 2)I noticed some weird smell most of the time when the car dies.
Here is a list of what has been done already: 1)Tune-up, 2) Fuel Filter, 3) Cleaned injectors, 4)Checked the fuel pump relay (visually, seems to be in good shape).
If anyone knows anything about this problem, PLEASE help.
