Lambda Light on S70

Good day
My 98 S70 GLT 152.000km, has that L shaped light come on. The car runs fine and all guages are good. The exhaust smells funnier though. Could it be bad gas? (I have used from same station for over 2 years). Or is it a cat problem? How much is that to replace?
Can I run the car like that until next emissions test (FEB) or could the thing melt and burn the whole car?

Thanks in advance,

John
