Is you car a used one. Most likely that your key is not the master key. When I bought my 855, it came with 4 keys: 1 master with plastic head, 1 master without plastic head, and 2 non-master keys (like yours). Non master key can only open the doors and ignition but not the glove box.

Dealer might be able to help.
