Interior lights 850 1993

I purchased all the light bulbs to do the lights for the interior of the car, switches and all. First off, all the bulbs for the instrament panel are wrong, and now my dash board is apart. Would it be a bad thing to drive to the parts store to get the right ones without the cluster in place? (Its about 4 KM return)

Second question, how do you get into the switches to replace the bulbs, or should I just go to the scrap yard and find switches that the bulb works?
