clutch 850 1994

I have 132k on my Volvo's clutch, and it's a turbo, and I love beating "sports" cars with a Volvo station wagon at the Stoplight Grand Prix! I honestly expected the 236hp motor to eat clutches for breakfast and the transmission to need replacing by now, but mechanically the car has been a pleasant surprise. The electrics and AC are another story. But I digress. I've not yet destroyed a clutch disk on a car, my failures have all been things like the rubber center of one or the pilot bearing, things and "while we were in there" the disk was replaced because the additional parts cost is trivial. I've even heard of HONDA clutches lasting over 200k and they're not nearly as robust as Volvo's. So attribute the clutch's longevity to your skill as a driver and just replace it when it begins to slip or another one of the clutch components fails.

As for the hesitation, the fuel pump relay is as good a guess as anything. Or the fuel pump. Have you cleaned your throttle body lately?
