lifespan of an S70 S70

well, we have 1999 v70 which we bought at 47k at our local dealer with the Volvo extended warranty of 70mos/100k miles. This was a lease return from southern cal. At 47K it received new battery, brigdestone tires, new filters,
plugs, and belts. Timing belt, checking on that. Its a non-turbo FWD base vehicle period (yeah!). After driving a 122s SW (350K on it now) as our main drive since since 1967 (New) we, being older to wanted upgrade. I inherited my Mom's
1997 Lumina (loaded with every option) with 2500mile on it. Was towed to local dealer 3 times, injector problems, electrical probs, door regulator, alternator,
fuel pressure reg, and lastly master brake cyl. all repairs $800-900, some were covered by a 3rd party warranty, then they went belly up. We just did not trust this car (mind you at under 50K). I prayed that we did not to be towed in when we got the V70!
gave us 4k for Lumina, drove out for 13K$. WE still have our 122s's, bullet proof, got 210K on a clutch! Anyway new cars are a real PAIN, one can nto do anything anymore. Japanese cars may be a bit better, but when they have problems expect to pay also. I guess we have taken things for granted for 35 years. car starts, car goes from A to B, car is There!. OH well I at least feel better. at 100k on the V70, will get rid of it, and fire up the 122s sedan (retired right now) as our luxury car.
best wishes to all, Volvos or not ,times are a lot different.
