Question about '99 S70 automatics... S70

I was told by a fellow S70 owner that there is indeed a sport mode on '99 models equipped with automatic transmission. The only way to activate it, he said, is to put the gas pedal to the floor, which will tell the computer to switch from economy mode to sport. Is this true? I ask because there is only a W switch on my mom's '99 base S70.
