Vacuum Pump on continuously S40-V40

I have a 2000 S40 with 73,000 miles. This afternoon a buzzing sound was noticed when the car was shut off. By pulling fuse 20 Vacuum Pump it shuts off. Does anyone know how to check to see if there is a leak in the system and so the pump tries to stay on? Or, is there a sending unit that may gone bad? Possibly a relay? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!! Just in time for the holidays!!! Merry Christmas Santa!!!
