could be as simple as a oil return passage has clogged up and the motor flooded the head with oil...but at that mileage, it may be the end. BTW were you running dino or synthetic? I ask because all the synthetic worshipers claim you can only get this far with synth.

I would check ebay or a junkyard and bet you could find an engine with about 80K on it for $600 and be on your way.
