Thinking of Buying my first V70 (or V40?); love 240s, but need advice V70-XC70

I know 240s inside out (have owned several). I'm thinking of upgrading to a V70, any year. Tips and traps to be aware of? What spare parts should I have, eg spark plugs, headlights, etc? Do OBD-II scanners work on all V70s and V40s? Should I get a Dealer Certified?
