Rough Start & Check Engine light S70 1999

Hi,

I have a question about my 99 S70. When I go on vacation for more than four or five days and let the car sit at home, during winter, and I come back and try to start it the engine sounds like it's going to blow up. It chugs and struggles and the engine light comes on momentarily then goes out. The engine quiets down to a rough idle. My car has 83,000 miles on it and I have faithfully serviced it at all intervals. I also change the oil every 3500 miles so it is a well maintained car. I must admit that I have never had one expensive repair issue with this car either. It's been wonderful. I guess my question is does anyone else have similar issues with their car ? Is the problem the winter additive that goes in gas in some states? I live in Va.
Also, shoud I just buy a gas additive to clean the injectors?

Thanks in advance for any responses
