Motor Problem OR Transmission Problem 850 1993

Sounds like your throttle positioning sensor is not working. This sensor picks up the idle when you turn on the A/C or even shift gears. Your car should idle at about 800 - 900 RPMs. Start your car and let it idle. Check you RPM's. Put car in gear and see if RPM's drop. If RPM's drop either your throttle positioning sensor is not working or is mal-adjusted.
