Battery problems 850 1997

I'm sorry for who'll ever buy his car, obvious he dosn't know what he's doing, I think the battery is in backward, or he blew something when hooking up new battery, it's plain and simple if you can't jump start the car it's not the battery, if you do, try to keep it running for a while and start it again, if it fail to start ( won't crank ) then check the battery and the cahrging system....
does the head light/horn work with the new battery? are you sure the new battery is charged? if you still having problem after all these get it to the mechanic before get further damage.......
