I bought a "Certified Used" 2001 Volvo S60 2.4 in June of 2002, it had roughly 13K miles on it and I knew from the dealer that it had been used as a Hertz Car Rental in Boston prior to them buying it at auction. I paid a premium as it was certified. I had absolutely no problems with the car, I just had in the back of my mind the nagging associated with buying a used car, at the time I paid $26K for it, but new ones were running in the $30's and it was one of those "Gotta have it" things. I kept the car for 13 months, again I had no problems other than a few bulbs going out, windshield wiper blades going bad and rusty lug nuts (dealer replaced these items under warranty, even the lug nuts). Because of the unknown,(I had no idea if the service records from Hertz were real or made up, they were in the car when I bought it)I bought a new 2004 S60 2.5T this past July. I think I would only buy another used one if I had access to copies of the car's maintenance records. 67K miles is a lot for a 3 year old car, I'd make sure the records were all in order.
