Yes, it stumbled when pressing on the accelerator -- bogged a bit then returned to normal idling.

I know what you mean regarding the turning on a turning off. When I move the car over in the driveway and turn it off, the fuel pump seems to keep running dumping fuel tothe injectors and to the cylinders. It's a bear to start after that.

This was not the case in this instance.

Thanks for your input -- it helps explain what happened better but the mystery still remains!!!
