'94 855T Turbo leaking oil 850

has 91k. I posted about a week or 2 ago about a loss of power, and the cause was a huge hole in the main air intake hose. Got it fixed, but there's a quite a bit of oil in the old hoses from the turbo leaking. Have a new mechanic and he said the cause was the oil leak. Quoted $1500 for the fix. I'm gonna check FCP Groton for their price on a new turbo unit and try and save some cash...if I want to get this fixed right away. Kinda hurt on $ from the holidays.
Any advice? Can this wait a few months, or once the turbo starts leaking oil, do you want to get it fixed right away. Car is running very nicely, turbo is kickin'.
Thanks,
Nick
