Which code reader to buy? Hand held or Alex Peper's software and a PC? V70-XC70

JBB--Thank you so much for your suggestion. I checked out the Auterra system, and at twice the cost roughly of Alex Peper's system, it seems kind of expensive. But, that by the side, not having to lug a laptop around or 25 feet of cord to plug into your home computer, the extra price I think is worth it.

However, I have one important question: On the FAQ site for the Auterra system, the question was asked whether it would handle the ABS and airbag systems, and the answer was no, it would not. Since the ABS module on many Volvos is always a trouble source, along with the rear wheel sensors, and, since you have to replace the cartridge components in your airbags after what, ten years? Wouldn't this be an important consideration in what code retriever to buy? I never asked Alex Peper whether his software would pull ABS or airbag codes. The former I think, the latter I doubt. Can you give me any more information on this? Again, thanks for your informative reply. Dick
