BLACK TRANS FLUID 850

Yea, you're way overdue for a fluid change and are pushing your luck. Volvo "didn't address" the issue of tranny fluid service because they didn't want to run up the cost of maintance on the 850's. All you need to flush the entire mess outa there is some clear, 1/2" ID vinyl tubing, an empty milk jug marked in quarts and about 13 qts of ATF fluid (go with Mobil 1 ATF if cost no option) and 30-45 minutes. You won't even get your pants or your hands dirty. Instructions are on the board but simply involves disconnection of the upper transmission hydraulic line at the radiator. Piece of cake
