Hi I have the same problem.
The turbo intercooler freezes up on cold days. The engine cannot get enough air thru the intercooler to run properly. Only after warmup can the car run properly. Sometimes the freezup is so bad the engine stalls on startup and the only way to start it is to disconnect the air intake hose comming from the intercooler and start the engine. After warm up I reconnect the hose.
I am thinking about bypassing the intercooler during the winter months but have not done so yet.
Let me know if you have any luck with your problem
Thanks Chuck
