Steering wheel Question. HELP!! S70 2000

Good morning everyone..I have a questions that maybe some of you can help with. I have a 2000 S70 with 38k miles on it. In between the steering wheel and the dash odometer area, there is a plastic assembly that your turn signal and wiper arm is connected to..It seems to have a 1/4 inch play to it and moves from side to side..is that normal or how can I tighten it?...thanks..lance
