Bad slave cylinder leaking brake fluid? V70-XC70 1998

1998 V70 T5M with just over 91,000 miles.

Within the last few days I started noticing a wet spot under the front of the car; looking directly above the spot I could see droplets hanging on the bottom of some metal part, in the area to the left of the battery (when facing the front bumper). Touching/smelling the droplets I think it is a brake fluid leak; since I also noticed a slight drop in brake fluid level recently I am almost certain it is a brake fluid leak.

I know the car's braking system and the clutch share the same brake fluid, and given where the leak is, I think the leak is from the clutch.

Took the car in to an independent shop today to have a quick look. After looking around in the area with a flashlight and a mirror, the mechanic said the leak was probably coming from the clutch slave cylinder. He would be able to tell better once I take the car in next Monday and he raises the car for a better look. He couldn't give me a rough idea on how much the repair job would be though, he said since he hadn't worked on this type of problem before.

Let's say it is the slave cylinder going bad, does anyone have any idea on how much such a repair job normally costs? I found a website listing the slave cylinder for under $110, but I have no idea how much labor it may take to do the replacement.

I have taken my car to this shop several times before (replacement of timing belt, AC hose, etc.) and absolutely have no complaint of their work, and I would prefer taking my car there than the dealer. Is the repair work complicated to the point that I would be better off taking it to the dealer where a mechanic (hopefully) has worked on this type of repair before?

Also, would the repair job involve taking the entire clutch apart? I haven't had any problem with shifting gears, but given the mileage, and if the clutch needs to be taken apart anyway, does it make sense to do the entire clutch at this point?
