Coolant Leak/Timing Belt C70 1999

Hello again to all... I feel like I am asking for advice about expensive maintenance far too often. I noticed a greenish colored puddle under my car recently and took it in for routine maintenance as well as to get the leak checked out. They informed me that I had a coolant leak and that it got on the timing belt (which was recently replaced). They therefore recommended I change the timing belt again (a costly repair at about 600 dollars). Is the coolant corrosive and has anybody else heard of a need to replace the timing belt due to a coolant leak? Thanks for any help.
-Bret
PS It is a 99 C70 with 102k miles...
