Johannes--when the service light comes on telling you you should take it in to your local Volvo dealer so they can change the oil and drain three liters out of the automatic transmission, charge you an arm and a leg, and tell you that your car is good for another five thousand miles, tell them thanks but no thanks. The service light only stays on for about twenty seconds or so, and then goes out. It's nothing to worry about. You're lucky you have a 95 because you can turn the service light out manually from a postion (I believe) behind the driver side headlight. I will leave that hopefully for somebody more knowledgeable than I am to pinpoint the exact location. Disconnecting the battery and letting it set for a few minutes oftentimes works on the earlier models like yours for turning out the servce light. Never heard of it flashing before, but you might want to disconnect both leads of the battery and let it set for about ten minutes before reconnecting it in case there is some capacitor that has to slowly discharge and in so doing, erase the code in the memory bank of the computer that is turning on the service light. But on your model you should be able to do it from behind the left front headlight. Save your electrical friend the trouble. Dick.
