aftermarket turbos 850 1994

Next week I'm going to replace the oil return seal and gasket. I have a bad leak and am burning/leaking 1 liter for every 1000km. I do have a little blue smoke under exceleration, there is alot of oil residue in my intercooler lines right up to thebutterfly. I have blowby at the oil cap and dipstick.
After reading this weeks forums, I'll try cleaning vacum lines and checking clogged lines. Could a worn out turbo pull oil through the bearing under boost and send that oil through to the intake? If I need to change my turbo are there options?
I only have 170 000 km, I'm third owner, worst of all I live in the mountains and my turbo can run under boost for up to 1-2 minuts at a time. I am careful to let the car run for a minute to let things cool.
Is there a way to tell if my car had that intercooler hose change for the freezing air problem?
Thanks geoff
