Thanks for your reply and your information. The transmission is ok right now, gear changes are not overly rough, and the oil seems fairly clean. However knowing this unit (the AW50-42 in general, not mine in particular) has issues, i'm looking to do the right thing to prevent as much as possible transmission failure, starting with a preventative flush (for reasons i've gone through in other posts) and then at a regular interval there-after.
