engine operation temperature S70

I just had a problem with the engine not coming up to temp along with very little heat. Tonight I spent $10 for a new thermostat and gasket/o-ring from a local foreign car parts place along with a T40 TORX bit for $3 from Sears...in 15 minutes the new thermostat was in place and everything seems to be working fine...with lots of heat (good thing too...the high tomorrow will be in the single digits). I lost a little antifreeze, but I worked fast and then topped it up with a cup of water.

One suggestion...I used a T40 TORX bit that fits into a screwdriver with at least 4 inches from the handle to the bit. On my '98 S70 GLT, the rear bolt was tought to get to with the 3/8ths T40 socket...I used a pair of vice-grips on the screwdriver handle for the leverage needed to loosen/tighten the bolt. Per a previous suggestion, the www.volvospeed.com website was helpful.
