Turn signal speeds up with brakes on 850 1995

My '95 850 Turbo wagon (on the road one week today) is doing something that has me baffled. When I turn on the right turn signal, it flashes at normal speed. If I then step on the brakes, the signal speeds up and the flasher unit in the dash makes a brief buzzing sound each time the signal lamps turn off. The left signals operate at normal speed, with or without the brake, and no noise from the flasher.

Any suggestions?
