850 R 850

I have finally located one close enough for me to go test drive and see if I like it. They are selling really cheap ($8700 97 R SW) and that has me worried. I know i need to check for a few basics when looking at an 850 SW -
1. Timing belt
2. Rear main
3. Turbo and its seals
4. Rear tailgate related items
5. A/C system (evap ect)

But what is the PNP switch? I keep reading about it and I dont know what it is or does. Along with this - what else should I keep an eye out for (besides the obvious- like crash damage)
I dont know all that much about the 850 except that I really like the way they look.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
