Are there any other signs of a problem? I had a mileage drop due to a bad fuel pressure regulator, but I also had rough running idle at the same time.

It took my machanic a while to find the trouble too, as I recall he had the car a few days. He tried replacing PNP switch and a few other things before putting pressure gauge on fuel line.

One other thought (and over looked item) - has flame trap been replaced lately?
