S80 2.9 Oil Capacity S80

OK This seems to be an easy one but I have a question. The owners manual shows 7.3 US quarts with a filter for the oil capacity. I change my own oil with the car jacked from the front on jack stands. I put 7 US quarts and a new filter and the car checks slightly over the top "Max" mark on the stick. The owners manual reports the marks to be "Min" and "Max". I had a Ford Expedition with the "Min" and Max marks and a capacity of 6 qts with filter. It took 7 to reach what I referred to as full but they call "Max". 6 would put it in the middle. The Ford Dealer said that 7 would make vibrations in the engine from oil to crank spash and the vehicle should be in the middle between "Min" and "Max".

This leads me to my question. A Volvo Dealer changed the oil for me only one time when it was required to write a Volvo VIP Warranty on the vehicle. I checked it after they changed it and it was between Min and Max about 75% of the way and off the Max. I topped of to the Max mark. Where should it be on the stick? If 7 qts puts it slightly over "Max" should it be 6 or 6.3 qts with filter. If there is a Volvo Tech out there I would appreciate a response. Thank you in advance. I did not want to ask the Dealer due to I perform all of my own service and document with receipts for the warranty and I did not want to come off as someone that cannot even read an owners manual much less change there own oil when I have a valid question. I long for the simple days of "ADD" and "Full". I know for a fact that Ford changed the way we look at dipsticks, did (Ford owned) Volvo?
