Check engine light. FET 251 850

The check engine light came on in my '97 850 GLT, while driving in rapidly dropping temperatures up a mountain pass. My mechanic is stumped by the OBD-II code it is giving him. FET 251. Says he's never seen it before, and can't cross reference it in his books. Does anyone know what this code might be? and whhow to solve this problem?
