Find an independent Volvo repair shop in your area and make a list of the repairs you want done. Everything on that list except the A/C Evaporator replacement you can do yourself for the price of parts. The Evaporator work at an indy shop will run you about $800. Get the retrofit pollen filter kit from FCPGroton.com and it will help save your replacement evaporator and fan. Check out part prices at www.FCPGroton.com under the Volvo stuff. The car's worth about $4k so there's not much sense in spending more than it's worth in repairs.
