Loong road trip ahead/ Any check-up advice before leaving? 850

My wife and I are hoping to adopt a baby in less than a month and we are debating whether to drive or fly. I want to drive but she is concerned about
anything that might go wrong on the way. I have taken good care of the car,
(i.e. oil changes evry 3k, recent re-built auto trans, rotating tires, new rotors on front, brakes all good).
Any suggestions to make the trip a safe one would be appreciated.
P.S. Heading from the east to the mid-west the first week of March.

Thanks!
