2000 S80 T6 58K mi S80

For the last two weeks I have noticed, at 50 to 60 mph, on a smooth road, with Cruise Control ON, a slight hesitation and surge. I can feel it, but the speedometer and tac needle don't move and the car seems to have the same pick-up.

The symptoms may be like an EGR valve that does not open up and lets a knock occur. I say this because my passenger recognized it and said it was like her car that had a new EGR valve put in to fix it. I looked up EGR valves and for one that is not opening you get a knock.

The Volvo parts guy said an EGR valve for my car was not listed. What does that mean?

Could it be bad gas? Should I just wait until it gets worse or goes away?

Any thoughts expressed would be appreciated.

Thanks;
Rich
