engine upgrade 400 1992

Hallo, i own a 440 volvo 1992 model with B18FP engine.I am looking to getting more power from the engine.I have heard about porting the cylinder head and fitting larger valves along with a reground camshaft.Could these do the trick and what power gains would i see?Would i have to reprogram the ecu and change the injectors?What about the throttle body?I have so many questions and so few answers.I really hope someone can help me.Thanks.
