Anybody try to plastic weld interior parts? 850

Anyone know what kind of plastic the console is made of? I’m trying to repair a broken console. Fatigue cracking liberated a chunk of the rear housing just above the rear ashtray, where the arm rest flips back. My friendly dealer wants $280 for a new one and I don’t trust that a recycled item won’t have the same problem just under the surface. Eastwood makes a number of kits for interior repair, from solvent applications to plastic welding. I was going to try the plastic weld kit. Anyone try this?
