Remote Key Lock Not Working 850 1993

This is my first post here. I hope I am doing this right. Thanks for any help you can offer.

I have a 1993 850 (149k) and resently, both remotes fail to lock or unlock the doors. I have replaced the batteries and I have tried reprograming without any success. While in the car, I can hear a soft click when I press the remote which makes me believe the remote working but the signal isn't getting to the locks.

I don't do alot of repair work myself and the Volvo repair shop I visit has only suggest we replace the remote.

The only other issues I have with this car is:
1. a problem with false error codes such as the service light or SRS light. I'm told I can replace the "computer" or just get them reset when I'm in for my next service work, which I have been doing to this point.
2. failure of a back window to go up. This can be solved by re-seating the fuse.

All other elecrical systems seem fine and the battery is new.
