rear brakes 850

I had left an earlier message regarding a vibration in the rear brakes when I come to a stop. I have read posts of this type and got a response saying that it's most likely a warped rotor. I was originally concerned that it may be a shim issue on the rear pads. The interesting thing, that I may not have mentioned on my earlier message is that it is an intermittent problem. If it was a warped rotor, wouldn't this problem occur every time I came to a stop? I guess I want someone to tell me its the pads rather than the rotor so I can save some money. Heck, I just spent $75 on an intercooler hose. I suppose one option is to just replace the pads and see if that fixes the problem.

On a side note, can I use white lithium base grease on the fitting when installing the rubber turbo hose to ease its installation? It doesn't say anything on the can about not using with rubber but I don't want to trash my expensive hose.

Thanks,
Todd
